Turn Up the Music

There's a song by Point of Grace called "Turn Up the Music" and it talks about how it doesn't matter what you did but how you lived and it has really struck a chord in my lately and in reality made me slow down and enjoy life.  I'm the type of person who lets everything get to me and tend to be the one who will typically just go along with everyone else to keep peace or keep to myself  instead of speaking up but not anymore.  Life's too short to be unhappy and always at others mercy.  I've done a lot of smiling, laughing, and crying lately and the 3 of those combined make me one happy girl.

I've put things aside and gone on a 2 hour lunch with an old high school friend that I've reconnected with recently, had dinner on the patio at Satco with my family, gone for last minute swims with the girls, planned last minute trips to Nashville Shores with siblings.  All because we can and life is about enjoying it.  Even those early morning surprise birthday breakfast at Pfunky Griddle for my sister's 29th birthday followed up by the flea market in 95 degree temps after a late night at a Vineyard celebrating my mom's 50th birthday.  Can you feel my happiness :).  Now if only I could get better about taking pictures!

"The most beautiful thing we can see from hard years and much pain is a faithful God. One who stands by. One who redeems - all things. One who creates masterpieces out of muck."

"How You Live"

Wake up to the sunlight with your windows open
Don't hold in your anger or leave things unspoken
Wear your red dress
Use your good dishes
Make a big mess and make lots of wishes
Have what you want but want what you have
Hmmmmm
And don't spend your life lookin back

Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
And let it all out
Cause you won't regret it
Lookin back from where you have been
Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you lived

So go to the ball game
And go to the ballet
Go see your folks more than just on the holidays
Kiss all your children
Dance with your wife
Tell your husband you love him every night
Don't run from the truth cause you can't get away
Oh No...
Just face it and you'll be okay

Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
And let it all out
Cause you won't regret it
Lookin back from where you have been
Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you lived

Ohhhhh
Wherever you are and wherever you been
Now is the time to begin

To give to the needy
And pray for the grieving
Even when you don't think that you can
Cause all that you do is bound to come back to
You
So think of your fellow men
Make peace with God but make peace with yourself
Cause in the end there's nobody else

Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
And let it all out
Cause you won't regret it
Lookin back from where you have been
Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you lived

Cause it's not who you knew and it's not what
You did
It's how you lived
